Wedding Reception Look

So recently I attended a wedding reception and thought it would be nice to write about the makeup and hairstyle I wore!
I simply began by starting off with my base, ensuring that a nice layer of foundation and concealer was blended to create a very flawless canvas. Then I moved on to finishing the base by adding my bronzer, (the Dior 'Poudre De Soleil' in the shade 'Light Tan'), my blusher, (the Clarins 'Illuminating Cheek Colour' in the shade 'Soft Peach') and packing on lots of dazzling highlight, which I used the L'oréal eyeshadow in the shade 'Golden Beige' to really illuminate my face to add to the glam look. I then quickly defined my brows and made sure that all of my skin appeared streak free and luminous. You can definitely tell I've been loving my bronzer at the moment; I've hit the pan quite a bit!
The outfit I wore to the occasion was a deep plum shade, so I thought it would be nice to incorporate a sparkly plum and silvery eye look. The eyeshadows I used to create this look were from the Dior 'Stylish Move' palette; I opted for this palette as I knew that the eyeshadows would last all afternoon into the late evening and that they would also make my eyelids super sparkly! To do this, I simply packed all of the lighter shades in the palette all over my eyelid, the lightest being nearer the inner corner and the more lighter lilac shades nearer the centre. Then with a fluffy eyeshadow brush, I packed the deep plum eyeshadow right into the crease of my eye, making sure that I patted it down first, and then progressed to using short, sweeping motions to blend out the pigment smoothly. I then finished the look by applying lots of mascara to complete the eyes and to add lots of volume and structure.
Once I had finished my makeup, I moved on to styling my hair. Normally, I always tend to have my hair down, either straight or curly, but this time I decided to go for something a little different. I ended up doing a 'chignon' bun; a sophisticated and easy bun which works beautifully with any outfit. From having no clue at all how to do this style, I managed to pull off the bun, without it falling out or being a complete fail, and I have to say I was pretty chuffed with the way it looked! For me, I don't find reading about the method any useful, so what I do (and highly recommend) is turning to good old YouTube, and viewing some of the tutorials uploaded by beauty vloggers instead. It helps to provide an easy description on how to achieve the look by watching them do it so that's what I did when I did my bun! Here's how it turned out.

So that is the hair and makeup I wore to this recent reception. Hope you found this helpful and interesting to read! Lots of love xo
