Nobody wants to spend loads of time straightening their hair for it to turn out even frizzier and to end up looking like a lions mane! I often find that I will straighten my hair, but it doesn't look as sleek and smooth as I want it to... however I've found some brilliant tips to keep your hair looking as silky straight as possible!

So the first thing I will do when I want my hair to be flawlessly straight is to use a straightening shampoo and conditioner. It makes a massive difference, especially for those like me with either natural waves or curls, as it makes the hair dry straight and also adds heat protection on top of removing frizz. I love using this John Frieda Frizz Ease shampoo and conditioner as they really do make the hair look, feel and smell amazing. I will always use these when I know that I want my hair to look perfect, especially on nice occasions. When I have applied the conditioner, I make sure to comb it through the tips of my hair with my trusty tangle teezer, which always makes the job a heck of a lot easier and easily removes those pesty knots!

Usually I leave my hair to dry naturally, but will use a hairdryer if I'm in a hurry. When it is slightly damp, I like to add my heat protection or nourishing serums. I like to use products like this as I know I am providing some extra conditioning to mainly the tips of my hair. A product I have been loving is the Argan Oil heat protection, leave in spray and the lovely V05 'Smoothly Does It' serum. Both products provide a barrier of care and a soft, silky touch to the hair itself, I would definitely recommend these products to anyone out there.

Now the straightening bit itself. If there is one tip I could assure you to do, it is sectioning the hair! It deffo took me a while to start doing this, but this is what makes the greatest impact. Before, I never used to section off my hair because I felt like I was wasting my time, but honestly now it makes a whole lot of difference! My hair is straight all over, there are a lot less kinks (ugh the kinks don't get me started!) and by sectioning into about 3-4 layers, depending on your hair thickness, you won't be wasting too much time at all. I often start the bottom section in line with the end of my eyebrow, and then gradually work my way up. There is no other trusty companion than my good old Remington straighteners!

I really hope that these tips have come in handy and that they work for you to get that smooth, flawless hairstyle! xo
